The Strategic Implication

Here’s what this means for businesses and creative teams in 2026.

The model is not the competitive advantage. Everyone has access to the same underlying models. Claude, GPT-4, Gemini — they’re broadly accessible and broadly similar in capability. The competitive advantage is the harness.

The team that has built structured context, institutional memory, good templates, and clear orchestration pipelines will run circles around the team that opens a chat window and types prompts. Same model. Categorically different output.

This is especially true for creative professionals, where the value lives in accumulated knowledge — client relationships, market pattern recognition, design judgment, brand history — that currently lives in people’s heads. The harness is the mechanism for making that knowledge usable at speed.

Google’s engineers figured this out and wrote it into their internal guidance. The rest of us are still mostly building the 10%.

The opportunity — right now, before this becomes standard practice — is to build the harness.
